U.S. Secretary of Energy, Samuel W. Bodman, awarded third place to a SOLARSA sponsored entry (Santa Clara University, CA) in the Dept. of Energy's Solar Decathlon,a competition in which 20 teams from some of the world’s most distinguished universities compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered houses.
Santa Clara University in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Cinderella team, which joined the Decathlon several months late after another team dropped out of the competition, has produced a winner.Competing against engineering schools 10 times their size and without a school of architecture and design, the Santa Clara team proved that size does not matter.Solarsa, a startup company from Tampa, was the first sponsor for the Silicon Valley University and remained the largest contributor providing a solar cooling system using thermal collectors and an absorption air-conditioner.

Florida Governor Charlie Crist today announced the 2008 Serve to Preserve Florida Summit on Global Climate Change. The conference will be held June 25-26, 2008, at the Intercontinental Miami.
Solarsa CEO Scott Jorgensen will be featured as a speaker on the Going Green Makes Economic Sense discussion panel. This group looks at the economics of renewable and sustainable energy technologies and the future of this exciting new market.
